Making your own bread from scratch, potentially without an oven or even yeast, is a long lost art for most. But not in the Cederberg!

Making bread from scratch is an essential part of the food heritage of the Cederberg, and is still a daily practice. Now, there are local residents willing to impart the know-how to visitors. This workshop runs for 2-3hours. Workshop choices include: Making of roosterkoek, Making of sourdough bread or ashbread, Making of sourdough bread with yeast derived from plants or vegetable scraps.
