Cederberg Heritage Route

The Cederberg Heritage Route offers you a choice of 4 varied guided walking trails ranging from 3 to 5 nights. Accommodation is in picturesque B&Bs in or near Clanwilliam as well as comfortable community guesthouses in the mission villages of Heuningvlei, Brugkraal & Wupperthal.  All meals are included as is luggage transport so you only have to carry a day pack. One of the Cape’s top 12 Hiking Trails.

Donkey Cart Excursions

Donkey Cart trails are on offer in the northern Cederberg. An exhilarating way of enjoying a pristine part of the Cederberg mountains whilst creating tourism jobs for local people . Choose between a 3-4 hour donkey cart excursion (R270 per person) in the mountains, a full day hike & donkey cart trip including lunch (R300 pp) and an overnight donkey cart excursion staying in comfortable guesthouses in Heuningvlei mission village (ranging from R620 to R780 DBB per person).

Hunting - Zandkraal Private Nature Reserve

 Zandkraal Private Nature Reserve is situated along the banks of the Brandewyn’s River, and nestled between the Agter-Pakhuis Mountains in the magnificent Cederberg region.  It is approximately 30 minutes drive outside of Clanwilliam, and 21/2 hours drive from Cape Town along the N7.  This 1250 hectare working farm offers spectacular game viewing and excellent HUNTING OPPORTUNITIES!  It boasts approximately 200 head of game on it, which include Gemsbok, Springbok, Eland, Red Hartebees, Zebra and free roaming Leopards, Caracal and Jackal.  The animals are well adapted to this area and are large in size for their species.  The Springbok rams slaughter on average 32kg’s and upwards.  The Gemsbok bulls average over 100kg (on the hook) with some reaching between 110kg to 116kg.  Eland bulls average 300kg (on the hook), with one recently weighing 378kg (on the hook).  The farm has various terrains, including 200ha of thorn trees, the river bed and surrounds, mountainous areas, and flat plateaus.  We have stunning accommodation units on the farm and offer day or over-night hunting packages which are specifically designed according to the individuals needs.  Our reserve has an Adequate Enclosure Certificate and therefore can offer hunting packages throughout the year and is not restricted to the hunting season of 3 months.  Teambuilding events can also be arranged.
